About AZ Dental

I graduated from Hebei medical college in China in 1987 and moved to Canada in 1993 to pursue a Ph.D. in Immunology at the University of Manitoba. In 1998, I decided to seek a different career and went back to school to study dentistry at the University of Alberta. Since graduating in 2002, I have been practicing dentistry and enjoying every step of the way. I love to challenge myself to learn various skills and am always eager to become a better dentist. On top of all general dentistry, I have taken courses in orthodontics, Botox to be able to provide my patients with a wide range of treatment and services.

Originally from Calgary, graduated from the U of A dental faculty. She has practiced for many years on the south side of Edmonton and still has a passion for patient education and thoughtful planning and treatment. Outside of work, she loves eats, books, and all things French!

Dr. Bona Zhang has called Edmonton home since early childhood after she and her family moved to Canada from China. She received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Alberta in 2017, and was also awarded an honorary Bachelor of Medical Sciences degree. Dr. Zhang enjoys serving patients in all aspects of dentistry and has a special interest in oral surgery and periodontics. Empathetic communication and compassion are the cornerstones of her care, and easing dental anxiety and providing a positive experience for everyone is one of her main priorities. In her spare time, Dr. Zhang likes to read novels, hang out with her family, and cuddle with her pet cat.
